Grad Gig LLC is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our platform.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide: Name, email address, and phone number when you create an account. Profile information such as school, graduation year, bio, skills, and photo (Students). Property address and type (Customers). Payment information collected and processed by Stripe, Inc. Grad Gig does not store full card numbers. Communications you send through the Platform including gig descriptions, applications, and reviews. 1.2 Information Collected Automatically: Log data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the Platform. Session cookies and authentication tokens used to keep you logged in. We use Supabase for authentication and database services, which sets secure session cookies necessary for platform operation.
2. How We Use Your Information
To create and manage your account. To facilitate connections between Students and Customers. To process payments and send payment-related notifications. To send transactional emails related to your gigs, sessions, and account activity. To improve the Platform and user experience. To enforce our Terms of Service and resolve disputes. To comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
Grad Gig does not sell or rent your personal information. We share your data only in the following circumstances: 3.1 With Other Users: When a Customer approves a Student for a Gig, each party receives the other's name, email address, and phone number to facilitate the service. 3.2 With Third-Party Service Providers: Stripe, Inc. for payment processing (stripe.com/privacy). Supabase, Inc. for database, authentication, and file storage (supabase.com/privacy). Resend, Inc. for transactional email delivery (resend.com/privacy). These providers are contractually required to protect your data. 3.3 Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve outstanding disputes.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (TLS), secure authentication via Supabase, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach via email to the address on file.
7. Cookies
The Platform uses authentication cookies set by Supabase to maintain your logged-in session (strictly necessary) and Stripe cookies used during payment processing to detect fraud and ensure secure transactions. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Your Rights
Access and Correction: You may access and update your personal information at any time through your account settings. Data Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at GradGig2@gmail.com. Opt-Out: You may opt out of non-essential email communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in any email.
9. Children's Privacy
The Grad Gig Platform is intended for use by individuals who are 18 years of age or older (Customers) and college students or recent graduates (Students). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
